Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor, most famous as a character on the popular TV show 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. Meloni discovered his passion for acting from his days in school and then pursued acting studies in The University of Colorado at Boulder. While he has appeared in movies as well as on TV however, it's his actors portrayed in small screen that have given him popularity. He is able to portray characters of both good and bad aspects of the legal system. He is able draw the attention of viewers effortlessly. In his very first TV production, he played an infamous serial killer. Then, he played the character of an NYPD detective. The small screen performances of his have been recognized with multiple Emmy Awards nominations and PRISM Awards. The most appealing feature of his face is thought to be his distinctive blue eyes, which are considered to be a trademark and help in portraying the rough and savage characters with a sense of humour. He was named in People's magazine's list of Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
