Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a uninhabited area of Montreal Island known as West Island. A lot of people who aren't aware of about the place mistakenly think that it is the West Island extends westward from Montreal. In fact the West Island includes everything westward of the city of Lachine. Amanda Brugel was born there and her time in the city wasn't long. Brugel grew up in Courtice close to Oshawa Ontario. She had a dream to dance but an increase in her height resulted in her outgrowing the dancers she was with. According to an article in the Toronto Star, she revealed her height in heels as six feet and one inches tall. As I grew older than my male friends, I quit. Many former dancers turn to acting and in the instance of Brugel,, it was a suggestion by her teacher of drama. The teacher suggested she try getting a part in the school's annual production. The student tried it out, and ended up playing the lead in Anne of Green Gables. After receiving the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. Since then, Brugel has been in over 60 productions both large and small. Most notable was the time she was cast as Rita on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel made an appearance on only a handful of occasions in the first season of the show The Handmaid's Tale. The only Canadian participant.
